About Us

AtheistFamiles.org was started in 2008 by husband and wife Clifford Meece and Kimberly Potowski. They felt there was a lack of support and venues for families who wanted to raise their children in non-theistic environments. Believing that there were many families faced with similar circumstances, the goal was to create an online meeting place where these families could exchange ideas and benefit from our group experiences. About the founders

Clifford Meece is a professional IT Consultant.

Kimberly Potowski is a tenured Professor of Spanish Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Chicago

We have 2 children, Nico (4) and Sammy (2 1/2), and are attempting to raise them to be compassionate, productive citizens who use reason to investigate the world around them.
