Raising a child in an atheist family - new parent

My husband and I had our first child last year, and though he is not yet at the stage to be asking us questions about religion I am contemplating how I might answer said questions, considering how pervasive religion and religious images are in our culture.

I am wondering what others tell their children about the current mythologies?
